Commissioner Hardesty Encourages Imminent Public Engagement to Improve PBOT's Pedestrian Design Guide Update

On March 30 Trees for Life Oregon's Jim Gersbach testified before the City Council that PBOT is not leaving sufficient space in planting strips to plant large-form trees in future development. In response, Commissioner Hardesty encouraged him--and we encourage you--to have your voice heard next week! "With your engagement," she said, "we should have a better outcome." We urge you to sign up by April 1 to testify via Zoom on Monday, April 4 at 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm at PBOT's public hearing on its Pedestrian Design Guide update. To sign up, email pbotpolicycomments@portlandoregon.gov by Friday April 1, 5 pm.

Can't make the hearing? Submit written comments by Friday, April 1, 5 pm to that same email address.

Creating space for new large-form trees is just as important as preserving existing big trees!
